1. What is Performance Art according to the videos? Elaborate.

2. What is the difference between PERFORMING ARTS and PERFORMANCE ART?
3. In “A Minute of Silence”, what do you think is the message? What is this
performance art trying to communicate? How would you interpret this
performance art? Elaborate.

Performance art is a type of art that uses the body and the natural space around
us to produce stunning visuals which then the audience and the performers can share.
What I mean by audience and performer share is that every performance art differs
from the others. This is one of the unique ways of performance art. When watching
something that differs from what you used to see in day-to-day life you feel
uncomfortable to watch right that is the exact feeling of a person who just stumble in
an art performance, an art performance the performer sometimes paint using their
body or try to interact with their audience by letting them paint with their body it is a
spontaneous series of event that cannot be sold or bought by others that’s why this
type of art is fascinating.

There is a difference between performing arts and performance art. Performing

art is more on the acting and theatrical side where in actors and actress imitate
characters of the play and reenact what the story is being told. Performance art is a
type of art that is heavily associated with subjected feelings that is often have a
political meaning. Performance art is an art that is not just you watching something
the performer or the artist itself wants the audience to join them in making this kind
of masterpiece. Immersing yourself in watching a performance art is like unsettling,
it's uncomfortable, because of the feelings that we feel when we are watching them
but through those feelings lies the way performance art works because if you don’t
feel those feelings of unknown you don’t appreciate what you’re watching.

In the art of silence, the meaning or the message behind this performance art
is that you cannot forget something that is happening a long time ago, and the silence

makes the ideal nature that helps us feel and relieve those memories of it. In the video
there are multiple people that are facing each other but they are not saying anything,
they are just looking at each other’s face. For me, it represents how people see each
other. Some of us are afraid to just by their physical. Appearances. That’s why they
always avoid eye contact. These things differ when the man whom the girl knows from
the past shows in front of her. I can see the immediate burst of emotion the girl has.
That’s when the girl's silence breaks. And for me this means that there will be a time
when all those bottled-up emotions will come to break it is the best to regulate and
try to lessen those bottled-up emotion rather than bottling it up you might never know
what will happen.
