On July 26, 1941, the Philippine reserve and regular forces were incorporated into the United States Army under the command of General Macarthur, the combined forces were called the United States Army Forces in the Far East. 4. The American naval and military losses at Pearl Harbor amounted to 2, 897 men 7. At one o clock, the United States Senate declared war without a dissenting vote. 8. In the morning of May 6, General Wainwright addressed a message to General Homma, through the “Voice of Freedom’, offering to surrender. 22. On January 3, 1942, the Commander in Chief, General Masaharu Homma, issued a proclamation announcing the end of the American occupation and purpose of the Japanese expedition. 23. The national was renamed the Central Administrative Organization, composed of executive departments; Interior, Finance, Justice, Agriculture and Commerce, Education, Health and Public Welfare, and Public Works and Communications. 24. On September 25, the National Assembly elected Jose P Laurel President of the future Republic. 25. October 14, 1943- declaration of Independence from the Japanese 26. On August 15, Japan surrendered, and on Sept. 2 the terms of surrender were signed on the battleship Missouri at Tokyo Bay. The war in Pacific was over. 29.
