Through Active Recreation (Sports)

Background Information for Learners

There are a lot of factors that affects your fitness and well-being like your lifestyle
(eating habit, physical activity involvement and daily habits), age, gender, physical make up
and the characteristics you inherit from your parents. To be able to achieve a healthier life,
you should manage your weight and lifestyle by making proper modifications in those factors
that may increase the risk of acquiring lifestyle diseases like eating habits and physical activity
involvement.

The first step to consider before making any modifications is by assessing your physical
activity involvement and eating habits. These assessments help you identify if you have healthy
eating habits and active lifestyle.

This lesson will help you understand that regular physical activity like active sports and
proper eating habits are the keys in managing your weight and lifestyle properly and achieving
a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Background Information for Learners

Engaging actively in recreational activities like sports is of great help in order for us to
attain a healthy mind and body. Involving in moderate to vigorous physical activities can
contribute to increase the level of performance, academically or physically, which leads to the
positive improvement of attendance and classroom behavior of the learners. It can also lead to
the prevention/risks of having diseases like heart disease, respiratory diseases and many more.

If you are healthy, you can be an asset member of the society. Remember, “Health is a

better next generation!
