In this contemporary era, advertisements are one of the ideal market strategies for numerous

companies for spiking their profits. Some people believed that its effects are positive both to the
customers and companies, while others think the opposite. It certainly has both aspects, but from my
point of view, the negative sides outweigh more than the positive.

Through the means of advertisements, companies can reach to a wider range of customers, nationally
well as globally. When more customers are lured to buy their products, more the items are sold, and
consequently more the company benefits. From the individual's perspective, many of them are unaware
of the existence of some products. When they find out such needed products, they buy them and hence,
both of them benefit. For instance, I have bought myriad perfumes and other cosmetics items through
the ads seen on television. Furthermore, ads are also a good source of educating people on how their
items work, how to use them, and when not to use them for optimum results.

On the contrary, when some products are heavily advertised by the organizations, but fewer items are
sold, then the company suffers overwhelmingly since, they spend a heft amount of money on it.
Moreover, most of the items seen in ads are heavily exaggerated, concealing their flaws. When such
items are purchased by the consumers, then their expectations are not meet, resulting in loss of money,
and even faith in the corporations. For instance, a plethora of cosmetic products like facewash promised
to remove pimples within a week or a month but, many customers find that their problems are more
surged by its side effects.

To sum up, good aspects of advertisements can be certainly seen and felt. However, it has much more
darker sides as a whole. Companies are using it as a tool to sell their products in the wrong direction,
and customers should halt their habits of buying products just by seeing ads.
