LAGAWE-IYA AND GSP FOREGROUNDS GOALS THROUGH LAGAWE MPS-MAC

DOMINATION
Ma. Helen Ruth Tilan
Lagawe, Ifugao- Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) together with Lagawe-Ifugao Youth
Association (LIYA) recently takes oath as leading youth servers of the Municipal Advisory
Council (MAC) spearheaded by the Lagawe Municipal Police Station, under the supervision of
PCPT REYNALDO B. TIMMANGO- Acting Chief of Police during the MAC meeting held on
6th of May 2021 at the Lagawe Municipal Police Station.
The conducted meeting welcomes LIYA and GSP with a warm introduction of long-
standing MAC officers and members along with the discussion of the targeted rules and
rationale. As the grassroots arm of the public service movement, MAC is confident enough that
the involvement of the youth will further strengthen the primary goal to support the mission-
vision of the PNP in its journey towards achieving the PNP Patrol Plan 2030. To secure official
membership, an oath-taking was launched to the two youth sectors which gave effect through
MAC Vice Chairman Hon. Marlon Bandao.

The aforementioned youth sectors’ integration strategy for the MAC focuses on enriching
youth leadership, volunteerism and participation towards selfless community service. It was
proven feasible through the affirmation of Hon. Marlon Bandao stating, “Service is simply a
matter of commitment and participation to do good because you aim for goodness.”

This coming 7th of May 2021, the council has organized its first modified Mobile
Community Pantry with the Lower Ayangan barangays of Lagawe as its first beneficiaries,
particularly in barangays of Pulaan, Ponghal and Olilicon, strengthened by the theme “Fadjang
Ad Adjang”, which is a localized term of BARANGAYanihan project of the Philippine National
Police. The council’s target is to reach a range of at least 150 foods packs which will be divided
into 50 packs to be distributed per barangay. With regards to the food packs, a set date for re-
packing of goods will be initiated on May 6, 2021 at the Lagawe Municipal Police Station.

Prior to the meeting’s conclusion, a tentative plan of next joint MAC Community Pantry
project will be perpetrated in Barangay Dulao, the farthest barangay of Lagawe on 14 th of May
2021 which brought about another MAC meeting to be held on 12 th of May 2021. Above all, the
Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) looks forward to continuing long-standing camaraderie and
triumph in working together to achieve a better Lagawe Community. #
