COMPACTOR - JUMPING JACK

Safety Precautions:
* Never use the choke to stop the engine.

* Never touch the muffler, engine cylinders, or cooling fins because they
could be hot.

* Never leave a running machine unattended.

* Always wear protective clothing when operating rammer. For instance,


goggles, safety glasses and safety shoes. Goggles and safety glasses
are
available for purchase at The CROWN RENTAL counter.

* Always be sure the rammer will not tip over, roll, slide or fall when
not being
operated.

* Always turn the engine off when the rammer is not being operated.

* Always close the fuel valve when rammer is not being operated.
(NOTE: THE FUEL SHUTOFF IS LOCATED BENEATH THE THROTTLE LEVER.)

OPERATION

NOTE: THIS UNIT IS OIL INJECTED. USE PREMIUM UNLEADED FUEL.

Before Starting:
* Place rammer on loose soil or gravel. Do not start rammer on hard
surfaces
such as asphalt or concrete.

To Start:
* If the engine is cold, close the choke on the carburetor.

* Open the throttle to ¼ to ½ of th full position.

* Pull the starter rope until the engine starts.

* Reduce throttle to IDLE.

* Open the choke on the carburetor.

Note: Cold engine should run approximately one (1) minute at idle to warm up.

To Stop:
* Place the throttle in the IDLE position.

* Shut off the engine by moving the throttle through the detent to the off
position. The engine will stop.

Note: This rammer does not have a stop button on the crankcase cover. The
throttle lever activates the engine stop switch.

Proper Operation:
* Open the throttle completely, Best compaction is achieved when the rammer is
running smoothly.

* Guide the rammer with the handle. Allow the machine to pull itself
forward. Do not try to overpower the machine.

* For best compaction, the shoe must hit the ground flat not on its
toe or heel.

Transportation:

* Always shut off engine and close fuel valve when transporting
machine.

* Tie down machine on vehicle to prevent it from tipping, falling,


or rolling.
