Denise : I don’t know what to do.
Mr. John : So what’s the matter Denise?
Denise : You know the Power Point presentation?
Mr. John : The one we’ve been preparing for the last two months?
Denise : Yes
Mr. John : The one that’s very, very important and that we need this afternoon?
Denise : That one
Mr. John : Aha
Denise : We’ve lost everything!
Mr. John : No!
Denise : I had it on a USB stick to transfer it but the stick has vanished!
Mr. John : But don’t you have it saved on your computer?
Denise : No, it was taking up a lot of space, so I deleted it.
Mr. John : So you have lost the only copy we have.
Denise : Yes
Anna : Can I make a suggestion?
Mr. John : Yes, please do!
Anna : Why don’t you try looking in your recycle bin? It might still be there.
Denise : I did. It isn’t.
Anna : Have you tried asking your colleagues if they’ve seen the memory stick?
Denise : I did. They haven’t.
Anna : How about looking through your rubbish bin to see if you threw it away by
mistake?
Denise : I don’t do silly things like that!
Mr. John : All very sensible suggestions Anna, thank you.
Anna : Maybe I could do a big office search for you? I’m good at finding things.
Denise : There are confidential documents in this office. Non-staff are not allowed to
see them.
Mr. John : Now, now Denise. Why don’t you drink up that nice tea?
Anna : I have an idea! Did you ever email the presentation to anyone?
Mr. John : Golly gosh, you did Denise! You emailed it to me to proof-read. It’ll be in
my inbox somewhere. Good thinking Anna!
Denise : I was just about to make that suggestion myself.
Mr. John : Problem solved. Thank you Anna!

Responding Suggestion
Example :
John : Hi John , would you like to do something with me this weekend?
Grace : Sure . What shall we do?
John : I do not know . Do you have any ideas?
Grace : Why do not we see a movie ?
John : That's sounds good to me . Which movie shall we see?
Grace : Let's see " Action Man 4 " .
John : I'd rather not. I do not like violent films. How about going to "Mad
Doctor Brown"? I hear it's quite a funny movie .
Grace : OK . Let 's go see that . When is it on?
John : It 's on at 8 o'clock at the Rex . Why don’t we have a bite to eat
before the movie ?
Grace : Sure, that sounds great. What about going to that new Italian
restaurant 'Michetti 's'?
John : Great idea ! Let 's meet there at six .
Grace : OK . I'll see you at 'Michetti 's' at six . Bye.
John : Bye.
Example :
Dena : Tyas, you look so pale. Are you all right?
Tyas : No, I am not. I am dizzy.
Dena : You should have a rest in the medical room.
Tyas : I have had a rest in the medical room, but I am still dizzy.
Dena : I suggest you to go home, then see a doctor.
Tyas : You’re right.
Dena : Please have a rest and I’ll inform Mr. Danang, so he can call your
mother to fetch you.
Tyas : OK. Thank you, Dena.
Dena : You’re welcome.
