We chose this issue so that we could speak and educate the people about Unspoken

Silence in our locality. in the past few years, we have heard of many cases about
child abuse. We went on and visited a government website and found out that there
are more than 391 child abuse cases reported in 3 months. The most frequently
reported abuse was on child neglect at 116 cases.

Our team went on and created a website on child abuse so that we could create
awareness or sensitise people on child abuse.

Our team also decided to create posters and place them in stategic places to
enlighten people on child abuse like in schools and some estates in our community.

We also went further and conducted interview with children in our estate to explain
to them the forms of child abuse and their rights as children as stated on United
Nation Convention on children rights.

We also sat down as a group and came up with a questionnaire to children in our
estate and school on our local issue of the Unspoken Silence. After posting the
questionnaire to the children in our estate, they were eager to know on how to
protect themselves from child abuse. In this way we went further and dug dipper in
our research so we could find and discover more about child abuse then later on
reported our finding to them our research findings the following day.

We did not interview a lawyer but instead sent the questions that we wanted to ask
to the lawyer and brought back the answers within a day. The reason we did this
because we had to take safety precautions on Covid-19.
