GCF Activity

Ring the GCF

This fun outdoor game is perfect for making GCF practice exciting. The math game
is ideal for small groups of about 4 to 5 kids.

What you will need:

• 5 strong sticks, at least 1.5 feet tall
• 5 rings
• Ten 4x4” index cards
• Black marker

Instructions:
1. Write down the numbers from 1 to 10 prominently on the index cards.
2. Drive the sticks into the ground so that they stand up firm and straight. Make
sure that the sticks are at a distance from each other.
3. Choose five cards and place one of them by each stick.
4. Give each player a ring.
5. Call out two numbers (make sure the GCF is on one of the index cards placed
by the sticks) and have the players toss the ring over the correct stick.
6. The first player to ring the stick scores one point.
7. Continue playing the game for as many rounds as you wish. Change the
index cards whenever necessary.
8. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
