Session 2: Anger Management

Joan S. Guevarra

Controlling anger is one important skill that a teacher should have because there are a lot times
that our students misbehave,or sometimes disrespect us that's why we should be able to
control our anger, our emotions and and having a lot of patience towards our students or others
things that make us angry. It is okay to feel angry, it's a normal feeling. What is not okay is that if
you loss to it. There are a consequences when you angry, sometimes you say harsh words that
might hurt the feeling of that person or you might hurt them physically the worst is that you migth
loss family or friends when you are angry. So, when you are angry try to calm down, find
someone to discuss your anger. Talk to your close friends, take a deep breathe or deep thought,
try to sort your feelings. If you feel like you are going to explode due to your anger close your
eyes and try to calm down. Try to fight your anger. We need to avoid aggressive acts when we
are angry. There are times that we cannot avoid the things or the people that enrage us, but can
learn to control our reactions. If someone is insulting or degrading or spreading rumors about
us, lets just let it pass because we are the one who knows ourselves. Don't take it seriously.
Don't hold a grudge towards that person. There are a lot of ways to control our anger. There's a
saying that " just because you are angry, doesn't mean that you have the right to be cruel". Just
forgive and forget and try to find solutions to you anger.Remind yourself with this bible verse: "
When you do good, God is pleased " . And when we do good we feel good and that's a great
feeling.
