The Lady with a Wealthy Heart

INSPIRED BY THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN
One day Sierra came to her uncle who is a priest and asked what he needed to do to live
forever or, "to get into heaven" or "to become enlightened."

Her uncle asked her what the law of the Ten Commandments said. Sierra answered,
"You shall love God with all your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all your
strength, and your neighbor as yourself." "Right!" said her uncle. Then Sierra asked,
"But, uncle, who is my neighbor?" In other words, "who do I have to treat lovingly?" This
is the story that her uncle told to her:

Once, a poor lady was walking on a lonely alley. Suddenly a gang of

thieves jumped out from the side of the road and sorrounded her “give us
your money” they demanded. ”I need my money” she cried. ”I have to buy
food from this money”.
One of the thieves picked up a rock from the side of the alley and hit
the lady in the head. She fell to the ground with a groan, bleeding. The
thieves leapt on her and seized everything she had because there was no
one else around. One of the thieves took a stick and beat her several times
before abandoning her half-dead on the side of the alley.
She asked for help but no one helped her, everyone ignored her, she
was near on giving up but fortunately, someone approached her. That lady
was a wealthy lady.
When she noticed the poor lady laying by the side of the alley, the
wealthy lady did not hesitate to help her. She immediately dialled 911 since
she knew that the poor lady needed some help and she was moved by
compassion.
The wealthy lady went to the hospital the next day to pay the injured
lady’s fees. The wealthy lady promised to come back in a few days and pay
whatever was required to restore the poor lady’s health.

When her uncle finished telling this story, he asked Sierra, “Which one of those
people acted like a neighbor to the poor lady ?” Sierra said, “The one who showed
kindness, the lady with a wealthy heart.” “Yes,” said her uncle, “go and do the same.
