The first leg you made will be on the right, and the second leg you made (the one with the uncut yarn) will be on the left. Count your stitches here to see how many you have -- to follow the pattern exactly, you should have 36. If you have less or more, go back and see if you missed any stitches. If you still can't seem to get 36, it's okay to sneak in an increase or a decrease before you continue onto the following rounds. When you're ready to continue, place your stitch marker in the center of the back, as shown, , as the increases and decreases after this round shape Reese's back and stomach. You've now made everything you need to assemble your Reese! The following pages will show you how to sew her together, crochet the ruff around her neck, and make her apron. Assembly - Neck and body Line up the neck and body, as shown. Remember, the top of the neck is where you began the neck, and the bottom of the neck is where you ended it. You can use your stitch markers to line up your stitches and hold everything in place. Using the yarn tail you left after finishing the neck, whip stitch the neck to the body. Assembly - Arms Note: These instructions are for giving Reese jointed arms, with a doll needle and upholstery thread, Ifyou do not want to use this method, you can just stitch the arms to the body with yarn. If you are using the jointed method, you can actually wait until after you've made the neck ruff and attached the head to attach the arms (just push the ruff up to move it out of the way), or you can do it now. If you are not using this method, though, it helps to put the arms on before the ruff and the head, otherwise the ruff and the head will get in the way and make stitching the arms on with your yarn needle more difficult. Step 4: Position the arms as shown. Step 2: With your doll needle and thread, secure a knot on the top inside of one of the arms Step 3: Insert the doll needle through the Step 4: Repeat Step 3, back and forth body and through the top center of the other through the arms and the body, as many times arm on the other side. Neck ruff Step 1: Hold Reese's body, as shown, with her back facing you, and insert your hook into a stitch ‘on the bottom FLO ridge that you made while crocheting the neck. Grab a new piece of Color A (Light Blue), yarn over, and pull through the stitch Step 2: SC around the bottom ridge of FLO stitches, until you've made 2 rounds of SC. You should end up with something that looks ike the photo below. (Continued on next page) Step 3: (DC 3 in next st, DC 3 in next st, slst in next st) repeat around once. Switch to Color C (White) Step 4: Slst around in each st, including the sist spaces between each ruff. Fasten off and repeat Steps 1-4 on the upper ridge of FLO stitches. When you begin Step 3, you may want begin making your DCs a few stitches after you began them on the ridge below, so that the ruffs are offset from one another. You'll have a lot of yarn tails left after you're done -- | like to weave them into the body and tie them into a big knot, then tuck it down into the stuffing. Assembly - Head Note: The head is attached to the neck using the seamless join method, which is shown below. This method is ideal because the stitches appear invisible, even when the blue yarn from the head is used to stitch into the beige yam of the face. If my instructions aren't clear enough, a quick Google search of ‘amigurumi seamless join’ will give you some excellent video tutorials by June Gilbank. (These photos are of my Cyrus doll, but the steps are the same for Reese!) Step 1:Pin neck to head as shown. You'l Step 2: Begin to stitch the head onto the stitches of the neck De diste te veri tet over tomatic directly below it. To make a seamless join stitch, insert your needle from right to left into A (the stitch you just came out of), out of the head. Needle is inserted into Stitch A, comes out of Stitch B. ‘And is inserted into Stitch C. Pull your stitches tight, and repeat this stitch around until the head is attached to the neck Assembly - Hair Stitch the pieces of the hair (center piece, sideburns) onto the head as shown. | used my large doll needle to stitch the center piece onto the head, and found it easier than using a yarn needle. Pin the back hair poof onto the back of the head, like a cap, with your yarn tail at the top center to start, and stitch it to the head using the seamless join method, stuffing it as you go. Assembly - Ears Pin the ears to the head and stitch them on using the seamless join method, as shown on the previous page. Use blush, eyeshadow, chalk pastel or a colored pencil to color the insides of the ears yellow. | used a Prismacolor colored pencil in yellowed orange.
