Questions: Answer in not less than SIX SENTENCES.

1. Why do you think Ostentatious Listening is important when working in a

team?

Based on the video given, Ostentatious Listening is important since as a

team leader or a team member, you have to show that you are listening to
the person who is speaking. By doing this, you should be able to repeat
what the person is saying during the meeting. You should also stop doing
anything during the meeting so that you can make eye contact with the
person. This is important since as a team, you have to work as one.
Listening and being able to repeat what has just been said means that you
are participating actively for the sake of the success of the project.
Ostentatious listening will help you understand and absorb better what was
being discussed during the meeting.

2. Based on what the video says, what is your UNDERSTANDING of the term
“Psychological Safety” ? Do you think this is important for team members
to experience for the team to be successful? Why or why not? Explain.
Based on my own understanding, Psychological Safety is when the group
feels that they are psychologically safe with each other. Meaning, the
members will be able to share their ideas and can work well with the other
members. For me, it is important for team members to experience this for
the team to be successful since they will feel comfortable voicing their
opinions and do not have the fear of being judged. This will also provide a
safe environment for the members since they can create rules on how they
work and interact with each other. Also, having psychological safety will
boost the confidence, creativity, and productivity of each member. This is
like an assurance that you will not be humiliated for speaking up with your
ideas, questions, or concerns. This is the reason why I believe that
psychological safety is important for the team success.
