Interpretation:
Regarding the examined lead content and the mentioned limit of quantification the sample corresponds to the legal
regulations (Regulation (EC) 1881/2006. For all further examined elements there are no maximum levels in honey set
by the Regulation (EC) 1881/2006. The determined contents do not exceed the maximum levels set for comparable
foodstuffs and lie within the range of the naturally occurring range for honey (ref.: Swiss Food Compendium, Chapter
23A, EDMZ, 1995; Stefan Bogdanov, Contaminants of bee products, Apidologie 37 (2006); MAFF UK - Analysis of

Interpretation:
The content of honey foreign oligosaccharides in this sample is equal or over the limit of quantitation (LOQ), but they
were detected in an amount that lies within the expanded measurement uncertainty of the LOQ and the positive
finding is therefore uncertain. Further analyses for adulteration with starch based syrups (e.g., 13C EA-/LC-IRMS,
activity of beta-/gamma-amylases, NMR-Profiling) are recommended.
