Esteemed dignitaries,

Distinguished Delegates, 
Ladies and Gentlemen, 
I Avni subidita, representative of Uzbekistan, take the pleasure to
address on the topic of role of sports in gender equality.
Sports play a significant role in helping to shape community values,
attitudes and behaviour.
Sports teaches women and girls the values of teamwork, self-reliance
and resilience.
Sport has a multiplier effect on their health, education and leadership
development.
Sports contributes to self-esteem, builds social connections, and
challenges harmful gender norms.
Recently at Tokyo Olympics, women sports stars such Mirabai Chanu
of India and Safina Sadullaeva of Uzbekistan inspired millions of
women
Women athletes have multiple world records.
Interestingly, 58% medals of US and 53% medals of China won by
women at Tokyo Olympics.
I believe encouraging women to participate in sports would help
contributing to the UN Women’s gender equality goal.

The delegate of Uzbekistan would like to suspend the formal debate
