Deforestation can have a negative impact on the environment.

The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of

species. Eighty percent of Earth's land animals and plants live in
forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys
their homes. Deforestation also drives climate change.
Global warming is projected to have a number of effects on the
oceans. Ongoing effects include rising sea levels due to thermal
expansion and melting of glaciers and ice sheets, and warming
of the ocean surface, leading to increased temperature
stratification.

supplies, fisheries, sewage disposal systems, forests, dams and
roadways can be affected for years after a slide event.
