What is your opinion about Microsoft’s strategy of releasing a program that can
crack its own encryption utility?

There can be various reasons at the mind of developers and Microsoft management to release

COFEE that can crack encrypted data but this decision is useful in certain areas which are as

follows:

1. Often people forget or lose the bitlocker key that can help in decoding the encrypted data,

therefore COFEE can help the user who owns the data but have lost the key to decrypt it.

2. Criminals can use data that can be harmful for society, cyber police can use COFEE to

intrude into the system of criminals and decrypt the data to get more insight to data that

can be helpful during prosecution.
