Culture and Tradition in Anthropology
-tradition is the passing on of belief or behavior from one generation to another were as culture reflects
describes characteristics.
-tradition is a belief passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance
with origins in the past
-Tylor (1871) say culture is that complex whole which includes norms, beliefs, morals, customs and any
other habits acquire by a human as a member of a society.
-culture includes mental capabilities (thoughts, behavior, action) and culture is also learned

-culture is scientific and refers to all features of a societies way of life (production, dressing, living habits,
type of food and public buildings).
