CULTURE AND TRADITION

-tradition is the passing on of belief or behavior from one generation to another were as culture reflects
describes characteristics.

-tradition is a belief passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance
with origins in the past

-Tylor (1871) say culture is that complex whole which includes norms, beliefs, morals, customs and any
other habits acquire by a human as a member of a society.

-culture includes mental capabilities (thoughts, behavior, action) and culture is also learned

-culture is shared

-culture is social (found within a group)

-it is an integrated whole.

-culture is scientific and refers to all features of a societies way of life (production, dressing, living habits,
type of food and public buildings).

-Tylor was able to establish a difference between the biologically determined and those that are socially
learned.

CHARACTERISTICS OF CULTURE

-the culture of any people include two group of phenomenal objects which includes tools, weapons,
houses and etc.

-intangible phenomenal it consists of beliefs, knowledges.
