Subject: Company Selection Proposal

Dear Teammates,

On behalf of our group project, I am writing this to propose my ideas with the explanation
about the company that can become an option for us to make further analysis about it. In prior to
analyzing the company performance, we have to figure out the answer to such questions as: does
the company’s data information can be easily found on the internet, does their stock is publicly
traded, and many more. Besides, to be able to crack the case of a company, we should do some
research in order to understand the company’s overview or a glance at the company's performance.
Accordingly, I provided some data and explanations related to the company that I proposed to you
for your reference. The company I would propose to you is Amazon.com, Inc., and the detail
mentioned in the following paragraph.

Why I choose Amazon.com? As I do my research about this company, this is included as one of
the Big Five companies in the U.S, which the company’s stock has been listed in the NASDAQ
National Market and it showed positive growth in value for the past 6-months (Yahoo Finance).
Additionally, it becomes a major player in 31 U.S industries and the only major player in the U.S e-
commerce and online auction industry according to IBIS World. Thus, there has to be bunch of
information related to this company provided on the internet, which makes us easier to collect the
data.

In this past year or during the pandemic situations, many companies have been through hard
economic situations. According to Yahoo Finance, Amazon.com once experience a decrease in the
value of the company but was able to survive, which is seen from the past 6-months financial
performance that is increasing in value. As one of the big leading companies, this going to be an
attractive thing to know more about their challenge and how they as a company survived in this
condition. Additionally, we can compare to the other competitors on how they deal with the
challenges, then analyze what company’s strategy is actually good to be implement in order for the
company to make their condition become more stable.

In terms of innovativeness, Amazon.com has been shown innovative ideas and strategies. One of
their features is called Amazon Prime as their premium user feature. They also have other strategies
on their web design, layout, or feature that triggered customers to add more items to their shopping
cart. Lastly, I found it interesting about their vision to improve their service in which is related to the
customer's satisfaction as I read in the news (The New York Times, 2021) that Amazon.com has a
deal with Affirm, the buy-now-pay-later provider, which is a great strategy. Thus, previous
explanation is intended to give you supporting information to consider the proposed company. Hope
