Introduction

Anything in excess can be dangerous. Similarly, if a kid spends so much time playing games on a
handheld device, such as a smartphone or a tablet, it may have a negative impact on his or her life.

Playing video games is a fun way for kids to pass the time, but it can be dangerous to their welfare if they
get addicted.

Children who are addicted to video games suffer mental and physical consequences. Gaming abuse has a
negative impact on their wellbeing as well as their academic performance. Furthermore, children who are
addicted to computer games do not engage in social activities.

Effects of Video Game Addiction on Children

Children that are addicted to video games are unable to focus and are uninterested in their schoolwork or
studies. When children play video games for extended periods of time, it has a negative impact on their
education. Children's sleep issues are exacerbated by their addiction of video games.

Apart from that, owing to the game's addiction, children are deprived of sleep late at night and are unable
to sleep for the prescribed hours. Inadequate sleep has a negative impact on their physical wellbeing.

Children who are addicted to playing games are always seen playing games all the time. They are socially
separated from people and at the same time they do not want to attend any social event. Because of this
their mental health is not fully developed.
Gaming addiction affects their behavior. Children become irritable due to gaming addiction and they get
angry on every small issue.

Last
Gaming may be a lot of fun, but if you start to find that you are spending more of your free time gaming
and are having problems with anger or your family relationship is strained, you might have a problem
with gaming. Recognizing that you have a problem with gaming is the first move. If you think you should
quit by yourself, try stopping yourself from playing video games; if this works, keep going; if it doesn't,
speak to someone who can help; there is no guilt in asking for help.
