Note: All boards are inserted into the front slots of the equipment. There is no
plugboard area or interface area in the rear of the equipment. The slots are
distributed at two layers: The upper layer, 2U high, is an interface area; while the
lower layer, 2U high, serves to hold processing boards.
The above figure shows the slot distribution. Among them, Slot 11, Slot 12 and slot
13 support slot disassembly. Without disassembly, the slots on the processing board,
from top to bottom, from left to right, are Slot 11, Slot 12, Slot 13, Slot 4 Slot 10
respectively; After Slot 11 is disassembled, the left one is Slot 1 and the right one is
Slot 11.
After Slot 12 is disassembled, the left one is Slot 2 and the right one is Slot 12.
After Slot 13 is disassembled, the left one is Slot 3 and the right one is Slot 13.
In the interface area, the slots distributed from top to bottom, from left to right, are
Slot 14 Slot 19 in turn. Of them, Slot 18 and Slot 19 are PIU boards permanently.
The slot for the fan board is Slot 20, at the left lower corner of the equipment.
1. The SCC/cross-connect/clock integrated units are fixedly inserted into Slot 4 and
Slot 5. By default, the one in Slot 4 is an active unit.
2. The two PIUs are fixedly inserted into Slot 18 and Slot 19, to provide the subrack
with -48V power hot backup.
3. The EOW board is fixedly inserted into Slot 9.
1.1.3 Correlation between the Processing Board and the Interface Board
In the case that Slot 12 and Slot 13 are disassembled into smaller board slots,
Slot 2 corresponds to Slot 14 in the interface area and Slot 12 corresponds to Slot
15.
Slot 3 corresponds to Slot 16 in the interface area and Slot 13 corresponds to Slot
17.
After Slot 11 Slot 13 are disassembled, the maximum access capacity on each slot
turns to be: Slot 1 Slot 3, 1.25G bus, 2 622M; Slot 11 Slot 13, 1.25G bus, 2
622M; other slots, unchanged.
Note: As boards in Slots 7 and 12 share the same wire outlet board in slot 15, in case
slot 7 holds a PD1, slot 12 is not allowed to hold PQ1 or PQM, and vice versa.
Likewise, As boards in Slots 8 and 13 share the same wire outlet board in slot 17, in
case slot 8 holds a PD1, slot 13 is not allowed to hold PQ1 or PQM, and vice versa.
