LPG stands for Liberalization, Privatization, and Globalization .

In 1991 with
the goal of making the economy more market- and service-oriented, and
expanding the role of private and foreign investment the Indian government
opened its market for Globalization.Specific changes include a reduction in
import tariffs, deregulation of markets, reduction of taxes, and greater foreign
investment. Liberalisation has been credited by its proponents for the high
economic growth recorded by the country in the 1990s and 2000s. Its opponents
have blamed it for increased inequality and economic degradation. Before the
LPG the Indian autoindustry had a few players in the market and due to the fact
the options were limited and the price was comparatively high there were would
be a single car for a family and people used to carpool or take public transport
for work. Now after the so called boom of the autoindustry after the LPG cars
and other private mode of transport have become cheaper and people are able to
afford. And so a family which used to have a single car in a family has 2 or 3
cars. The vehicles in the road keeps increasing day by day which directly
contributes to air pollution.Delhi restricted many private cars from the road
with their odd-even scheme to try to lessen pollutionas it grapples with a public
health crisis over its toxic smog

I would stress the importance of air pollution that is happening due to increasing
number of vehicles and suggest to follow the principle of minimalism
