What you should be able to do At the end of the lab, you should be able to: + Define Metro Mirror relations between the two DS subsystems using GUI and CLI + Test access to volumes from servers (source and target PCs) ments Before starting this exercise, your lab configuration has to be in the following state {in addition to the requirements of previous exercises): + Same team account with same password defined on each DS subsystem + Aprofile file allowing DSCLI to run in single shot mode on each DS + On each DS, two volume groups created, one for each PC (source and target) + Four Metro Mirror paths created between two of these LSSs, one on each DS + Two volumes defined in each volume group with the correct LSS number reserved for the team + One volume from LSS source on DS source mapped to the source PC + DS FC ports added in SAN zone © Copyright 1BM Corp. 2006, Exercise 5, Metro Mirror: Relation creation 5-1 Course materials may not be reproduced in whole of in part Exercise instructions During this exercise, you will also have to follow information provided in the Scenario Examples document Metro Mirror with GUI to have more details on the commands. From the previous lab, we established four paths between the following LSSs: + LSS EC on DS Source and LSS EC on DS Target + LSS ED on DS Source and LSS ED on DS Target We are now going to use these paths in the Metro Mirror relation between the two DS subsystems. 52 Copy Services for Open Systems © Copyright 18M Corp. 2006 Course materials may not be reproduced in whale or fn part without the prior written permission of 1M. } ) ) JJ 33 J Dt) aa JE) Jeep et: j See ae ae } ] } i) CG CGC pes Cea Cree Cee Coe CG fae (a eer C cee (ee Coe (ee CG Gag ccececece ¢ HG 5.1, ao Student Exercises Metro Mirror relation creation with GUI Create a Metro Mirror relation between two volumes inside the two LSSs, source and target, between which you have just created the different PPRCs. The source volume must be mapped on the source PC. In our example, we are creating a relation between: + Source volumes MED4-PC3_VOL1 (EC00) on DS source and + Target volume MED4-PC4_VOL1 (ECO1) on DS target Start the GUI on the first DS, DS Source, and open the Metro Mirror menu in the Copy Services part. Specify the source LSS and start creation. Choose manual mode. Choose one source volume (EC00 in our example). Then select the secondary storage complex and expand the list of LSSs. © Copyright IBM Corp. 2008 Exercise 5.
