An Outline to Planning (on a low budget)

Here are some simply instructions. Follow them, and get results.

Team work is important:

1. Someone should make arrangements: notify family, friends, place of service,


Pastor, etc…
2. Someone should contact local newspaper, write the obituary and eulogy.
3. Someone should call florist.
4. Someone should prepare the meals, dinner for guest two days in advance. If
catering, then deli is ideal.
5. Someone should be in charge of transportation. Picking up and dropping off those
without automobiles.

If there is a theme, “The Theme Is Yellow” keep it going:

1. Buy plenty of yellow ribbon. This is used for tying little bows on the antenna of
each family member’s automobiles.
2. Buy plenty of yellow balloons. This is for the releasing celebration of life after the
service.
3. Hand out service program printed on yellow paper to each guest.

At the gathering:

1. Have fresh yellow flowers as center piece of the room.


2. Be sure to cover all tables with a yellow cloth.
3. If using paper plates, cups, napkins, etc…get something sturdy with designs.
4. Someone should remain at home to welcome guests as they arrive.
