AB Philosophy II Mr. Joseph Renus Galang

Mr. Ronnel Christian David reported about naturalism. When I was listening to his
report, he delivered successfully but there are times that he stopped because of nervousness but
over-all it was good reporting and it led me to know what the importance of naturalism in
education is.

In our discussion in Epistemology, in the pre-modern period is a period wherein man

lives in harmony with nature thus, the ideals during this period are harmony and contemplation.
In the pre-modern being unveils itself to man. Naturalism in education stated that nature is the
main source for education. I remember when I was an elementary student, I always asks my
mother for all the things in my surroundings that I was not familiar, and my mother told me that
it is good to ask questions about nature because my mother is an elementary public teacher. Her
answer was always being curious in all the things in our nature and it is the start of learning and
my mother is the first facilitator for me who created a stage for learning. Naturalism has a great
impact in my education especially when I was elementary student because through my curiosity,
my senses discovered that nature always provides an answer. One of the purposes of naturalism
is to be ready, and be equipped in solving future problems, and yes, I can say that naturalism is
very effective in education as for what I have experienced and as student of philosophy.
Naturalism helps me on how to deal in nature that had a greatest impact in studying philosophy.
