Baker PP24 power pack ‘The Baker PP24 power pack is a high-performance impulse generator that is capable of testing high voltage windings. The output is controlled by a variable transformer from 2,000 V up to # maximum of 24,000 V. ‘The Baker PP24 performs both surge and DC/hinct tests when used with the Baker AWA-IV 32, Baker AWA-IV 6, and Baker DX units as the control and display. It incorporates a supply monitor for safe operation from a well- grounded supply. In addition, 45 kV rated test lead cables are provided. ‘The surge generator is designed to provide IEEE 522-2004 compliant test voltages. The key design element of the surge test circuit meets the requirements for IEEE 522-2004 compliart tect voltages. Tha tester supplies 0.1 to 0.2 mS voltage pulses to the coil or winding under test. Voltage rise time is 1100 to 200 ns (0.1 to 0.2 ms}, so the Baker PP24 complies with IEEE Standard 522-2004 and IEC Standard 34-15 when testing motor windings and coi. ‘The DC hipot test can also be done using these power packs. A test voltage is set by the cutput control from 2,000 V up to 24,000 V. Current is displayed and ‘an over-current trip circuit monitors the test. if current exceeds the trip level, the test is eutomatically halted. In its most sensitive setting, the protective circuit will operate as low as 10 mA. In addition, the host unit monitors current.
