Malacañang’s suspension of government work and classes in all levels

nationwide October 16-17 in anticipation of the two-day transport strike led by
Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston) versus Public
Utility Vehicle (PUV) was just a disturbance in all aspects nationwide.
The cancellation of classes in schools nationwide revealed the government’s
lack of insights in the possible outcomes of having no classes due to transport strike.
Aside from transport strike has nothing to do with the students’ education it
also shorten the allotted time for the students to study given the simultaneous
‘Monday Holidays’ lately.
Not just students, government officials had to stop their works for the two day
strike were also highly affected.
The suspension was just a complete hassle mostly to employees of
government for they had many paper works to do and to finish. Two days without
work was a waste of time and their salary was lessen corresponding to the number
of days working.
Parallel to the 2-day class and office cancellation, probably economy will also
be part of the chain reaction of the transport strike.
In terms of business, a day without profit gained is a very big deal. Some
business establishments were forced to shut down early because of the order of the
government. A day with no work can really make a big difference.
On the other hand, this 2-day transport strike create a very long rest day for
students as well as the government employees. From a very tiring and stressing class
or work, 2-day break is refreshing. Because of the transport strike jeepney drivers
were able to express their thoughts and reaction to the modernization program.
However, after this 2-day break, paper works and classes are to be rushed due
to the suspension. Amidst this long rest day, it was not totally rest because the
lessons that was supposed to be learned was not taught and the services that was
supposed to be brought by the government was delayed.
Transport strike has a good purpose but apparently because of the
government’s decision it had caused disturbance widely. Lastly, to avoid such
problem that is all because of the transport strike, jeepney drivers must also consider
the factor that all must adapt changes.
