Winston Churchill once said and I quote “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.

The
optimist sees opportunity in every Difficulty. 2 months ago most of us see only the difficulties
and not the opportunities that SBM validation will bring to us. Most of us are full of doubts and
questions about our chances in passing the SBM assessment and validation. We never thought
that we could achieve this kind of preparation considering the many intervening concerns and the
limited resources that we have but with God’s guidance, the support that our stakeholders
extended to us, we proved that anything can be possible with determination and unity. That’s
why our hashtag is WE ARE ONE IN SBM. SBM brought us together in this venue, in this
moment.
SBM is all about collaboration, synchronization, it is about shared leadership and
decision making, decentralization, it is about empowerment, accountability and harnessing
resources.
At present, we are the first school in Sorsogon East among 12 elem. Schools and 2
Integrated schools to be validated, and we are hopeful that we will be able to make it to atleast
level 2 so that other elem. Schools in the district will be inspired to apply and be validated also.
Our initial agreement with mam Alma was, Sor. East schools will be validated in September, but
as of today only a few of the schools signified by giving tentative schedules. I think spark is
needed so that my fellow school heads in Sor. East will say, If Cabid-an ES can do it, surely we
can also do it.
Our SBM journey is full of learning. Let me take this opportunity to thank all the
validators, our PSDSs and EPS headed by Mam Alma Dometita. Thank you for sharing your
precious time with us today, thank you for the technical assistance given to the teachers along
School Based Management. We welcome you all to Cabid-an Elem. School with open arms.
Let me also thank the Brgy. officials headed by Hon. Ruperto B. Yco, Kgd. Cora, Chairman of
the committee on Education she is also here with us. To Tiya Gemma Despalideras our present
GPTA president along with other officials of GPTA. To the teachers, and other stakeholders who
