A- Shall meet at least Twice every year
B- Time and Place of the meeting as
prescribed by the Chairman.
OBEJECTIVES OF CONSUMER PROTECTION COUNCIL – SAME FOR CENTRAL, STATE AND DISTRICT
• RIGHT TO BE PROCTED – against marketing of goods which are Hazardous, adulterated and unfit for consumer
use.
• RIGHT TO BE INFORMED – Consumer has the right to seek information about the quality, quantity, purity, price
and other necessary information about the goods – to be protected from unfair trade practices
• RIGHT TO BE ASSURED – Consumers must be assured that whenever possible to access a variety of goods at
competitive prices.
• RIGHT TO BE HEARD – The consumer protection council shall assure that consumer interests will receive due
considerations and will be heard at the different and appropriate forums
• RIGHT TO SEEK REDRESSAL – Consumer protection council must ensure that the consumers can seek redressal
against unfair trade practices and in case of exploitation.
• RIGHT TO BE EDUCATED – The consumer protection council shall ensure that consumers must be educated and
shall be made aware of the various rights and how can they seek protection regarding the same.
