As you might imagine this is a very difficult letter to write. Clinton Community Schools
was informed late last night, September 20, 2021, that four of our students were
involved in an automobile accident at approximately 8 pm on North Adrian Highway.
All four students are seniors. Two students are in critical condition with serious injuries
and two were killed in the accident. It truly breaks my heart to have to share this news
and the district extends our deepest sympathy, prayers, and condolences to the
affected families. Please keep our students and their families in your thoughts and
prayers. We all need to take care of each other right now as we struggle to comprehend
this terrible tragedy.
This morning, members of the administration and the CCS Crisis Response Team met
to implement our plans for supporting our students. We have counselors and a local
pastor on site today as well as our crisis team and will continue to provide this support
for the rest of the week and longer if needed. Surrounding districts and the LISD have
offered to provide support today and we have additional social workers and professional
counselors on site. This extra support is greatly appreciated.
We will share any arrangements and updates once we are informed by the families.
Should you have questions please let me know.
Sincerely,
James Cracraft
Superintendent
Clinton Community Schools
