Dr. Nicholson has been a valuable member of the Special Education Curriculum Team as well asa leader in the School of Education. She brings a good balance of scholarship and practice and can navigate the academic aspects of higher education space effectively, while teaching students who are practitioners on the front lines of working with K-12 learners. Rarely have | seen someone as skilled with this balance. Dr. Nicholson also serves on the SOE Technology Committee. As the chair of this committee, | can honestly say that her contributions to both the committee, as well as the School of Education at large, are superb. She challenges herself and her team to purposefully integrate technology into teaching and course design. This is complementary of our university's vision of being the leaders in the ‘evolution of adult learning. Moreover, she has a unique ability to forecasting trends in higher education and intentionally designing learning opportunities that positions UMass Global at the cutting edge of adult learning. In the area of interhal service, Dr. Nicholson provided valuable leadership with faculty ‘governance. In her two years as a faculty-nominated member of the Governance and Appeals Committee, she brought forth thoughtful changes to the university that benefit both faculty and students. Additionally, she shines in the area of external service with routine engagement with communities in events such as the webinars for Autism Spectrum Disorders, CEEDAR and various high- level conferences Without hesitation, | would fully support Dr. Nicole Nicholson for a rank promotion at our university. know that | can always count on her to push our university to new heights.
