Governance Division PSDS/ Districts in-Charge School Heads (elementary and secondary) Public and Private This Division Republic Act 7079, otherwise known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991 mandates the development of journalistic skills among the youth by holding press conferences at the school, district, division, regional and national levels. It is in this context that campus journalism activities should be strengthened in all schools, elementary and secondary, in this division. In relation to this, the 2018 Divisional Schools Press Conference shall be conducted on October 15-19,2018 . It shall be hosted by San Francisco | District. Venue for the contests both individual writing and group events will be at Agusan del Sur NHS. However, the lecture and contest for the collaborative and desktop publishing will be done at San Francisco Pilot CES. Billeting quarters for the elementary will be at San Francisco Pilot CES, while the billeting quarters for the secondary shall be at Agusan del Sur National High School. The theme for this year’s DSPC is “Fostering 21" Century Skills and Character-Based Education ‘Through Campus Journalism.” The four- day event is a competition on the twelve areas of campus journalism such as news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, science and health writing, editorial cartooning, copy reading and headline writing, photojournalism, script writing and radio and TV broadcast and the collaborative desktop publishing (CDP) and online publishing. All these events are to be done in English and Filipino, elementary and secondary. For this year, one additional contest for the secondary will be conducted, the online publishing. Each participating secondary school shall register _@ team of five (5) for English and another team for Filipino. Participating schools are required to submit a copy of the parents permits. of their contestants to the registration committee. The school paper advisers are also required to submit an eight- age computer print out newsletter of the school year 2018-2019. These requirements are mandatory before the entire delegation will be officially registered. 8 10. 11, 12. 3. 14, 15. 16. 7. 18, Each participating school is allowed to send only one contestant per event per medium, per category. A contestant found to have joined in more than one event will disqualify the participation of the entire school The top seven winners of the individual events shall be the division’s contestants to the 2018 RSPC. For the group contests such as online publishing, COP, radio and TV broadcasts, our delegation to the 2018 RSPC will be a composite of the best among the contestants. ‘A registration fee of P 100.00 shall be collected from each participant to cover expenses for the meals and honoraria of the judges and speakers , certificates and other related expenses. No meal shall be served to the participants. Heads of the delegations should take care of the participant's provisions. Honoraria of three resource speaker-judges, medals, trophies, contest supplies and other needs related to the holding of the event shall be charged to Division MOOE subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Registration fee and travel expenses shall be charged against school MOOE, campus journalism funds, PTA funds , or from any other source of funds subject tothe usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Each school paper adviser shall be collected an annual membership fee of P60.00, while each student/ pupil contestant shall be collected P30.00. ‘As an add-on activity, there will be a lecture-discussion and contest on column writing. The contestants should come from the editorial writers, elementary and secondary, English and ino. They should not be separate contestants because this is only an exhibition contest in the RSPC. There will be a Tagisan ng Talento and Tagisan ng Talino which is open to elementary and secondary. Each municipality will send 1 entry for elementary and also 1 entry for the secondary. The participants are required to bring their own sets of bedding. School paper advisers and campus editors who are applying for Outstanding School Paper Adviser and Outstanding Campus Editor, respectively should submit their documents to the DSPC Management on October 15, 2018, during the registration. In order to minimize the use of paper and ink for the reproduction of the list of facilitators , work committees , DSPC Matrix and guidelines on every contest area, all these documents shall be disseminated on line, at the Facebook Page of CID, DepED Agusan del Sur and in the Facebook Page of Agusan del Sur School Paper Advisers’ Association. 19.
