All Saints Day Mt.

5:1-12
Today’s Gospel is called “the Beautitudes” (beatus=blessed, happy) ‘ang mapapalad’…
…a litany of how Jesus teaches ‘blessedness’…those who are to feel happy…
His message brought great hope among the neglected crowds in his time- the poor, the uneducated, those
who do not know yet the Gospel or have the Kingdom of God proclaimed…those people who do not
think that heaven as the place of happiness.

In the Gospel, Jesus shows us the 8 of the many roads to holiness, thus to happiness: ang umaasa sa

The saints have one or more of these roads…and perhaps us also…so be happy because you are
blessed and you are on the road to sainthood!

But many will say, I do not intend to become a saint…who would want the parts of his holy body be cut
and distributed..or sell? BUT WE MUST REMEMBER that Jesus teaches us not just the road to
sainthood (mamuhay sa kabanalan), but also the road to heaven…our life in heaven…where true
happiness is.

Not all of us wants to become holy like the a saints…but I’m sure every body wants a piece of
happiness.

The problem…many of us, Catholics or not, yearns for the happiness they can found here on earth.
This is very evident because most of us devote more time and attention to the matters of these worlds
that gives us temporal joy….we GIVE PRIORITY sa pinagkakakitaan, many of the OLD persons
choose to spend time in their hobbies, YOUTH spend half of their day playing MOL or chat. BECAUSE
THEY THINK/FEEL IT IS HAPPINESS.
…it is not enjoyable to pray the rosary, to join processions, it is boring to read the bible or attend the
Mass for many…little they know that these things can lead us to a life that is holy, that is happy!

True to this world, but we are not here forever, for we do not belong in this world…it is either
only in heaven or in hell.

So, THE SAINTS REMIND US OF THE HAPPINESS WE MUST GIVE PRIORITY WITH. This
happiness is what Jesus is trying make us realize in today’s Gospel.
Jesus wants us to discover happiness during the pandemic, he wants to be happy and feel blessed despite

We are blessed because we are still alive and while we are still alive…we can still make up for our
faults, we can still make peace with our neighbors, we can still express our love for our love ones…and
most of all, we can still MAKE GOD HAPPY…ito ay biyaya ng Dios sa atin.

…at dahil sa mga biyayang ito… tayo nga ay tunay na mapapalad. Amen.
