CARRION FLOWER

Carrion flower has the Latin name rafflesia arnoldy and has a larger size and emits a very foul odor. This
pungent odor plays an important role as a protection and serves as an attraction for insects such as flies
and beetles to help the pollination process.

Carrion flower native habitat in the Sumtera forest. But now it is starting to be conserved in many places
such as in the Forest Park of Ir. Djuanda Bandung. In its development this flower is able to soar up to a
height of 4 meters.

When this flower blooms, the outer petals will be white while the crown will be purplish deep red.

Although its size is quite large and looks very sturdy, this flower can only last for 7 days and then it will
die. Therefore, this plant is categorized as a rare plant.
