COVID 19 INCREASING IN THE CITY

Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. However,
some people will experience severe pain and require medical assistance. Everyone has a different
response to COVID-19. Most people who are exposed to this virus will experience mild to moderate
symptoms, and will recover without needing to be hospitalized. (Topics)

Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Medan City, North Sumatra Province, experienced a very
sharp increase on July 13, 2021 with an additional 404 cases, bringing the total to 19,800 people.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cures in Medan City is currently 17,494 people after
the addition of 95 people. (Supporter). The most common symptoms:

1. fever

2. dry cough

3. fatigue

Slightly uncommon symptoms:

1. discomfort and pain

2. sore throat

3. diarrhea

4. conjunctivitis (pink eye)

5. headache

6. Loss of sense of taste or smell

7. skin rash, or discoloration of the fingers or toes

The virus can be spread from the mouth or nose of an infected person through tiny fluid particles when
the person coughs, sneezes, talks, sings, or breathes. These particles can range from larger droplets
from the respiratory tract to smaller aerosols.

You can catch it when you breathe air that contains the virus if you are near someone who is already
infected with COVID-19. You can also catch it if you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth after touching a
contaminated surface. Viruses are easier to spread indoors and in crowded places.(Closing)
