1. When does my coverage begin under the “Salesforce Flexible Benefits” plan?
If you are an existing employee, your coverage will begin on 1st August 2020. If you are a new hire
enrolling in 2020-21 your coverage will begin from your date of joining Salesforce.
You can select the benefits that you think are most relevant to your family’s needs.
Salesforce will continue to provide the same level of benefits as last year (default benefits) with
more choices for you to select from. However, you can choose to change your benefits starting this
year 2020-21 as per your requirements.

4. What do flexible benefits mean for me ?
Salesforce will continue to cover yourself, spouse, 2 children and 2 parents/parents-in-law for INR
700,000 on family floater sum insured. There is no change in the default coverages. As per
Salesforce benefit’s philosophy, we want to provide you with more choice so that you can
customize your benefits plan according to you and your family needs
You should review your individual need and change your benefits according to following factors.
• Family structure
• Health needs
• Current Lifestyle
• Stage of life
• Upcoming event in the family
7. I have completed my enrollment before the enrollment window closure, and I have
time left in my enrollment period can I make further changes to my benefits?

Yes, you can choose to change your benefits option till the end of the window period. However, post
the enrollment window is closed no further changes will be allowed. Hence, we urge you to be
prudent in your benefits selection.
8. Can I make changes in my plans once the enrollment window is closed?
Once you have made your enrollment choices, the only opportunity you get is to add additional
dependents during life events such as marriage, childbirth, adoption, divorce etc. You cannot make
any changes to your coverages during the current plan year. Selections made during enrollment are
effective for the current plan year.
10. How does the flexible benefits choice and selection work?
Salesforce is committed to providing all its employee’s industry leading benefits and
enhancements by giving choice.
You will be provided with many choices of benefits which can change your benefits selection in
terms of coverage. Each choice has an INR value that will accumulate based on your choices.
You are provided with the fixed flex fund value that is required to select default level cover by
Salesforce.
The total selection cost payable will be first charged to Salesforce provided flex fund value and any
balance left over will be deducted from salary over 3 salary cycles
11. What is the flexible benefits fund value for your benefits?

12. How much flexible benefits fund do I have in the 2020-21 policy?

13. I have purchased benefits that have exceeded the flexible benefits fund available.
How will this work?
You can purchase any of the benefits that are available on the Benefex portal based on your
eligibility. These benefits can be any combination of medical benefits, enhanced buckets, Insurance
Add-on benefits, life insurance benefits, and accident plans. If you have exceeded the available
flexible benefits fund, the additional amount will be deducted from your monthly payroll in 3 equal
installments.
14. I have selected lower benefits compared to my default coverage. I have additional
flexible benefit fund which is unutilized. What can I do with this balance fund?
The un-utilized flexible benefit fund will lapse at the end of the policy period. Hence, it is
recommended that you utilize your complete flexible benefit fund to buy benefits that are relevant
to you and your family.
You can avail tax exemption as per I.T act Under Section – 80 D for additional amount paid from
your salary towards Medical and Term life insurance benefits.
16. What is the meaning of Portability? Can I port my corporate policy to a retail policy?
Portability is the option which allows you to transfer your corporate policy to a retail policy. The
terms and conditions of the retail policy will be based on the plan shared by the insurance
company. You will be able to avail the time bound exclusion waiver from your corporate policy to
your retail policy e.g. if you have been continuously covered in the Salesforce corporate policy for 2
years, then you will be able to avail the 2 year waiver on the time bound exclusion on your retail
policy. The premium will be directly payable to the insurance company and salesforce will not be
liable for any benefit or premium negotiation.

Yes, Salesforce allows you to port your corporate policy to retail policy.
17. What happens to my contribution if I leave Salesforce in the middle of the benefits
plan year?
If you or any of your enrolled dependents have not made any claims during the plan year, your
contribution will be refunded on a pro-rata basis with your F&F. If you or your dependent has made
a claim, then there is no refund.
Additionally, you will have the flexibility to convert your existing plans to retail plan and pay the
retail premium to the insurer directly. The benefits of the retail plan will be as per the retail policy
details of the insurance company and not as per the Salesforce corporate policy.
