Hello everyone, my name is Andrea Carrillo. I am an executive working for Amcor, and in
this occasion. I’m training a set of advanced communicational competencies using the case
method. Today we will continue talking about Amcor strategies. As we know Amcor is a global
leader in developing and producing high-quality, responsible packaging for a variety of food,
beverage, pharmaceutical, medical-device, etc. due to my work a famous a man, named CHRIS
ROACH, he made me a question, which is: How does Amcor manage to expand so rapidly in
this competitive industry?
Well, Amcor use fifth drivers, each one of them make Amcor grows potentially in the industry,
first at all we have “focused leadership” Amcor has established a leadership position in
addressing plastic in the environment. Also Amcor has grown by regularly making acquisitions. I
forget to mention that the management of the company did an amazing job convincing everyone
was the best move to the shareholders and that move allow to each company to have its own set
of strategic priorities. In fact, this move has a lot of advantages to the company and their growth.
Also Amcor has a Leadership qualities in Business Management which are:
1. Concentrate on the goal: Effective leadership is knowing how to prioritize the most
important tasks. Like amcor.
2. Resilience: Effective leadership is evident in organizations that are able to cope amidst
all the stress.
3. . Emotional Intelligence: Effective leaders need a level of emotional intelligence in their
long list of “must have” leadership traits.
4. Innovation & Creativity:
The second is the innovation driver, Amcor's innovative finishing technologies deliver
outstanding shelf impact. And they have some strategies to do it. With their ever-changing

The third engine is strategic alliances. On this occasion, Amcor made an excellent move, which
was to make an acquisition in Mexico, which was a strategic step forward for the business in that
region. made a strategic alliance with Arca that provided many benefits, one of them was Amcor
purchased the PET on site injection and blow molding assets of Arca to focus in their business
activity and will creates savings at the production of PET packaging.
The fourth driver is AGGRESSIVE EXPANSION STRATEGIES. This mean Amcor follows a
focused, high-conviction approach, emphasizing stocks across market capitalizations with
sustainable earnings and cash flow growth. Moreover, we've seen how Amcor has managed to
focus on their core competency, leading the plastic packaging industry, improve and innovate
while inventing new and less complex procedures, even entering in the Latin American market
directly. Isn’t a global fast growth? Because it is to me. To continue growing, Amcor made
strategic alliances and expanded into the Chinese market, Eventually, Amcor have achieved
many objectives. Like I told you before. That’s the reason why Amcor expand so rapidly in this
competitive industry.
