Ex: It's snowing. It's winter.

3. EXISTENCE STRUCTURE

a) There is

1. Use there IS for singular nouns (one item).


2. Use there IS for non-count items(group nouns).

Ex: There is a spider on the wall.

b) There are

1. Use there ARE for many items (plural nouns).


2. Use there ARE for count ítems

Ex: There are pencils on my desk


There are many animals in the zoo

Negative Form.

a) There is not or There isn´t

Ex: There is not water in my house


There isn´t pollution in Merida

b) There are not or There aren´t

Ex: There are not cars on the street


There aren´t pencils on the floor.
