1. What is the Gospel all about? Summarize in your own words.
The scribes and Pharisees had come from Jerusalem and gathered around Jesus
and they wondered why Jesus’ disciples eat their meals with unwashed hands, because
it’s the elders tradition to wash their hands before meals and when they from the market
they purify themselves before eating, and Jesus said, Isaiah prophesied well of you,
hypocrites as it is written: This people honors me with their lips but their hearts are far
from me; they worship me in vain, presenting human precepts as doctrines, and he said to
the crowd, Hear me all of you, and understand. Nothing from the outside can affect a
person; rather, it is the things that come from within that defile.
