Good Day,I would like to formally Introduce myself. My Name is Krisean Carlo M.

Ongpauco, but you can call me Krisean. I am a pro that the General Education subjects should be

I included to your college courses even though the subject itselfs are not align to your preffered

course or degree. Based on the question the general education subject are purposive

communication, art appreciation, science, technology and society, understanding the self,

readings in the Philippine history, math in the modern world, contemporary world and Rizal.

Should students have to take General Education subjects, or should they be allowed just

to take courses connected to their major course? In my opinion students should have General

Education subjects. Because in the first place it wont be a subject if it doesn’t make sense.

General means most people, places, or things; widespread, so it means that it is for all even

though it is not align to your preffered track I do think so that it can help you in the near future

specifically Math in the modern world and purposive communication. Math in the modern world

can help you to do well in computation for your future businesses, not just because you are

taking HRM or different track it doesn’t mean you will not need math. Also Purposive

communication this have a huge role for students in my track this can help us enhance our

speaking skill and understanding in our second language the English language.

Second, the general academic subject has readings in Philippine history, this subject will

help us gain more knowledge about our history also we have this Filipino saying “tangkilikin

ang sariling atin”. We should learn how to patronize are own culture and also it sad that this
days only few Filipinos know about our history. Studying history is significant because it allows

us to understand our past, which successively allows us to grasp our present. Studying the

background of your country can provide us insights to our cultures of origin moreover as cultures

with which we'd be less familiar, thereby increasing cross-cultural awareness and understanding.

The importance of general education subjects it provide as an honest breadth of learning

opportunities that will be applied to our lifestyle. The importance of general education subjects it

provide as a wide breadth of learning opportunities that can be applied to our daily life. Also it

will help students to be decently prepared to do well in their chosen career, they need to have not

only the hardship of an academic education but also an applied, relevant and practical

curriculum that focuses on the development of these core skills.

To conclude, I do agree that we should study general academic studies. Because the idea

of the general studies program is to make it comprehensive, associative. and to focus on critical

thinking and other skills that everyone can use.
