Running Head: RESPONSE 1

In the post, the PICOT question that has been identified revolves around people suffering

from diabetes and hypertension and their knowledge relating to how long they need to take

medication for their health condition. The study that has been selected and evaluated is a

qualitative exploratory study where semi-structured interviews have been conducted. As pr the

summary of the findings, about half of the participants had expectations to discontinue taking

medicines as they intended to bring about a change in their lifestyle (Fairchild et al., 2017).

A key strength that has been identified is that the chosen article focuses on patient

behavior. A limitation of the study is that the sample size is small. Both the strengths and the

limitations of the study have a direct implication on the quality of the research study. It has been

ascertained that there is a need for educating people about health complexities such as

hypertension and diabetes (Fairchild et al., 2017). The post could further capture how the

provision of proper education at the right time could help people to change their lifestyles instead

of relying on medication to improve their health conditions. The topic that has been covered in

the post is extremely insightful as it shows the power of education to curtail chronic health

conditions.
