Phrasal Verbs in Use Set Two

Listen to the accompanying MP3 and read this short passage. Think about
the meanings of the phrasal verbs as you listen and read. This will train
your brain to master these phrasal verbs.

Situation: A company CEO is talking to a board member about a deal that fell
through.

Hi James. Please bear with me while I tell you the details of what happened.
We were banking on our offer for the company being accepted, so we went
ahead and built a new office block. Unfortunately, the deal fell through at the
last minute, so we now have a half-built office block that we don’t need. A few
other board members have suggested we complete the building, turn it into
apartments and sell them. I didn’t like the idea at first, but I must admit it’s
starting to grow on me. What do you think?
