Psalms (Dalit). It is a song praising God or the Virgin Mary, and containing a philosophy of Life. The Book of
Psalms, commonly called simply Psalms, the Psalter or "the Psalms", is the first book of the Ketuvim, the third
section of the Tanakh, and a book of the Old Christian Testament the Psalter or "the Psalms", is the first book of

Old Testament, it is a collection of poems, hymns and prayers that express the religious feelings of the Jews
during the various periods of their national history that tells the story of Israel and the promises of God's
covenant. The Book of Psalms is also a collection of intricately designed poems that tells the story of Israel and
the promises of God's covenant. The book of Psalms poetically tells the entire history of the Bible.

David, a shepherd boy, author of this psalm and later known as the Shepherd King of Israel, writes how a sheep
would think and feel about his shepherd. The Lord is my Shepherd implies a profound yet practical working
relationship between a person and the Creator and Saviour. A psalm is a religious poem or a song put to music.
Some of the Psalms in the Book of Psalms are hymns to be sung by a congregation, and Songs of Ascension to
be sung by pilgrims approaching the Temple. Some are private prayers, and others are lyrical devices to
remember historical events in Israel's history.
