Dear Dr. Brown,

As a Lecturer of French in the department of Foreign Languages, your workload is

primary focused on teaching nine courses a year (90 percent) and offering some
extracurricular activities for the students to practice their French (10 percent).

Per your request, I visited two of your online courses offered during Fall 2020: French
1001 section 5 and French 1002 section 2. Below are my observations from carefully
looking into your courses:

1/ Your objectives are clearly stated at the beginning of your modules. This is a very
important step for a successful course (online or face to face) as it communicates to the
students what are your expectations.

2/ Your personal videos are kept short and straight to the point while offering a personal
disposition that makes the students valued and cared for. The information shared in
your personal videos make you look like you are available for any question or concerns
that students may have during the semester.

3/ Your syllabi are well designed and give all the necessary information, especially the
due dates for the various works. This is also very important for students' success as
they can plan now and organize their schedule so they can be ready for tests, writings,
and other important assessment activities you have lined up during the semester.

4/ You are sharing all the required resources that KSU offers (from disability services to
tutoring). You are also giving plenty other resources for the students to be successful
via your announcement tab, helping them to choose the activities they want to be
involved in. While this is not required, it is also an important step to keep students
engaged and raise their awareness of the wealth of the Francophone culture.

5/ You are available for your students. This is the feeling I get not only by organizing
your office hours on a regular basis via Collaborate but also by offering them to contact
you with any question. This has never been so important than this semester with most
of our courses moved online. You definitely give a sense that you want students to
succeed in your class.

As I have highlighted above, it is obvious that you are a very engaged and excellent
instructor. Your passion for the French language and its culture make no doubt that you
found your perfect place in our program. The students' population very well receives
your extracurricular activities on pronunciation and the quatre heures you organized
with another colleague. Teaching nine courses a year is a definite challenge and I'm
please to say that you are doing an excellent job. You are a valued and esteemed
colleague in our French and Francophone studies program. I am proud and honored to
have you as a Colleague.
