GUIDLINES FOR CLINICAL POSTING IN PEDIATRIC NURSING OF BSC

NURSING 3RD YEAR STUDENTS

OBJECTIVE

1. Co-relate the theory with practice


2. Demonstrate skills in teaching individuals & groups in different health setting.
3. Develop & apply the skills in assessment, planning, implementation with rational
&evaluate the nursing care.
4. Assess the learning needs of children & provide health education
5. Participate effectively as members of health team in health care delivery system
6. Assess physical growth & development of different age groups (neonates, infant,
toddlers, preschool ,school & adolescent)
7. Perform nutritional assessment of children
8. Give need based health education related to disease condition
9. Identify Setup of immunization clinic (infrastructure, staffing pattern, services
available, chain for vaccines)
10. Perform immunization
11. Develop ability to promote breast feeding & weaning practices among mothers
12. To identify genetic disorders & provide awareness
