Document President Corazon Aquino’s Speech Before the Joint Session of the US
Congress

Background of the Author - Maria Corazon Cojuangco Aquino was the 11th president from 1986 to
(Cory Aquino and Teodoro 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines. She was

Revolution in 1986. This directed to the fall of the Marcos
administration. The person who wrote her speech was Teodoro Locsin
Jr. He was a secretary and speechwriter of Corazon Aquino’s speech.
He is also known as the DFA Secretary.
