Currently, the vote of migrants is a very controversial issue, when we talk about this

issue each person has a very different opinion from other people.

Currently, immigrants living in Spain cannot vote in general elections, but the ´´Junta
Electoral central´´, which is in charge of running the elections, distinguishes several
groups among immigrants. It allows only citizens from some of the countries with
which the Spanish government have an agreement to vote in municipal elections.
Neither China nor Morocco are in this group, they are two of the countries with the
most migrants in Spain. The law says that only citizens who have Spanish nationality
have political rights. This means that 5 million foreigners living in Spain cannot vote
even if they have been in the country for years.

In my opinion, immigrants should have the right to vote since it is a basic principle of
democracy, and I think that everyone has the right to elect the people who govern the
country in which they live. I don´t see that Spaniards who do not live in Spain can vote
while people who live in Spain cannot vote just because they weren´t born here.

In conclusion, I believe that immigrants should have the same rights in Spain as people
born in Spain, since we are all human beings and we should not have any more rights
than others.
