Appeals Process

The Appeals process outlined below addresses the Learners and Employees.

Training Center employee

An employee may appeal against suspension, dismissal with notice or summary dismissal to the Issuer of
decision within three days after the disciplinary action is taken. The meeting to hear the appeal should be
attended by a member of the management who is more senior to the one who initiated the disciplinary
action, the employee making the appeal and a colleague of his own choice if s/he so wishes. The
disciplinary action shall be taken within seven days from the date of the appeal submission. The
management will deliver the decision to the employee and confirm it in writing.

Learner Specific

If a learner feels that an assessment or any other decision made by their assessor/trainer is unfair, they
should initially, verbally inform their assessor/trainer at the time of being made aware of the decision
setting out their reasons for dissatisfaction and itemising the areas where they feel they have not been
fairly assessed/understood.

The assessor/trainer needs to give a patient hearing to the learner and clearly explain their reasons to
the learner. If the learner is still aggrieved following the assessor’s explanation, an Appeals Report Form
should be completed and given to the assessor for submission to the Training center Director.

The Assessor will verbally acknowledge receipt of the Appeals report form and will submit it to the

Director with the following documentation:

• All evidence put forward by the learner for the assessment under question.

• All evidence of assessror’s/trainer’s review and action plans.

The director will make a decision and provide clear written feedback directly to the leaner using the
Appeals report form.
