'Distancing is impossible': refugee camps race to avert

coronavirus catastrophe
One of the problems of this new pandemic is the difficulties of the refugees, because
they are already vulnerables. There are 70 million refugees, displaced people and
asylum seekers around the world, that are affected from this situation.
Some things like travel bans, closed borders and living conditions in camps amplify
the risks to migrants but this crisis is an opportunity for people to help this vulnerable
group. Researchers and aid workers are helping refugees taking different steps to
protect them, goverments also introduced measures to 'flatten the curve', One of this
measures is give the inability to the migrants to proceed with deportation under the
current state of emergency but for example, this measure can be harmful to migrants.
Some ONG's like Doctors without Borders are prioritizing additional water and
sanitation facilities at the camps in Greece. Other groups, including Human Rights
Watch and the International Rescue Commitee, have issued a similar call. Some
essential migrant support services are simply being closed with no date for open.
In conclusion, we must help inmigrants and respect the measures of the goverments
for not get infected.
