What is he/she
famous for? Present one argument to support your point of view.

Thomas Edison, Clara Barton, Bill Gates – brilliant people that have made steps towards a
better life.
Particularly, Clara Barton is considered one of the greatest nurses ever, being a volunteer
who cared for wounded and sick soldiers during the Civil War. Furthermore, she invented
new ways to solve big health problems and saved many lives.
I admire her because she was brave and self-sacrificing person. Though, her courage could
serve as an example for each of us. I think such people should be remembered and praised.

Describe a holiday….

Christmas is a well-known event celebrated around the world, including English-speaking

countries. This is the time for family gatherings and holiday meals.
During this time of the year, Americans decorate the outdoors of their homes with colored
electric lights. Singing carols, giving Christmas cards and gifts are also an expression of joy and the
good wishes of the season. I think, this holiday unites people and make them kinder and better.
Altogether, Christmas reminds us of the importance of giving and sharing with friends and
family.

Describe a symbol of an English-speaking country

Every nation has symbols—specific objects that represent beliefs, values, traditions, or
other intangible ideas that make that country unique. While these symbols may change over
time, they can help to bind a nation together by reminding its people of their nation’s history
and most important principles.
One of the greatest symbols of the USA is The Statue of Liberty. Being a gift to the
USA from people of France it is an iconic symbol of friendship. Moreover, it is an important
tourist attraction. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom
and democracy, as well as one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks.
Therefore, millions who cherish the American ideals make the journey to experience
the history in person.
I think, the statue stirs the desire for freedom in people all over the world. Particularly,
it represents the United States itself.
